We were very excited to see Travis and Curtis’ wedding at Event 1013 featured in the current issue of the Texas Wedding Guide! I absolutely loved Travis and Curtis’ sense of style and their use of bold, vivid colors for their wedding. And since Travis’ family is originally from New Orleans she incorporated some New Orleans traditions into their wedding as well such as the second line parade at the end of the night that got every one out on the dance floor. It was also wonderful to get to work with the talented Susan Maria Johnson with Classic Weddings and Events by Susan again. Things always go smoothly when she is the wedding coordinator. Congratulations to Travis and Curtis!
New Life for an Old Camera
Recently I modified my 5D for infrared and have been anxiously awaiting the spring foliage so I could test it out. I took it with me for Coleman & Catherine’s pre-wedding session that we did at the Japanese Gardens a couple of weeks ago and wanted to post one of my favorites since I’m so enamored with infrared photography and wanted to share.
A TCU Wedding
Last month we had the pleasure of photographing Angela and John’s wedding at the Robert Carr Chapel on the TCU campus. Angela and John both graduated from TCU and they had so many fond memories there that they decided it would be the perfect place for their wedding. They are such a fun couple and they surprised everyone at the reception with an unexpected visit from the TCU mascot SuperFrog. Everyone was having such a great time and no one wanted the night to end.

Phase 3 Photography on the Cover
Earlier this month I was invited to the unveiling of the new issue of McKinney Magazine. I was excited that they were going to feature McKinney weddings in the new issue since there are so many great locations and venues for weddings in McKinney and was told they had chosen one of my photos for the story. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that they had chosen one of my bridal portraits of Megan at the Grand Hotel for the cover. It is a great honor to be on the cover this month! Thank you McKinney Magazine.
Fashion Editorial Featured in Texas Wedding Guide
Wow! 2012 is gearing up to be an amazing year for Phase 3 Photography! Not only is one of our weddings featured in the newest issue of D Weddings (I’ll post more about that later) but the fashion editorial that I photographed for Texas Wedding Guide is now out on newsstands. One of the photos even made the cover which is a huge honor and a wonderful surprise!
I want to give a huge thanks to Unique Unique Design and Gather for letting us use their amazing spaces for the shoot. I am always inspired when I walk into Unique Unique Design and it has quickly become my favorite store in McKinney, which is saying a lot because there are a lot of amazing stores downtown.
I was in awe of the rest of the team that day. Shannon Caldwell with Something You…Make Up Artistry and Stephen Jaime of Toni & Guy were there all day doing hair and make up. Everything they did was flawless and they were having so much fun while they worked their magic! And of course a huge thank you to Shannon at the Texas Wedding Guide for asking me to be the photographer for this amazing project.
Now for some photos!

Sonoma Wedding Slideshow
My last post was from Sara and Ryan’s beautiful wedding in Sonoma California and there were so many more photos that I wanted to post so I decided to make a slideshow of my favorites from the wedding to share. The slideshow is displayed below or you can view the slideshow at www.phase3photography.com/ryanandsara. Thank you for watching!
Sonoma Sunset Wedding
Last month we had the pleasure of travelling to Sonoma for Sarah & Ryan’s wedding at the Kenwood Inn & Spa. I could not have imagined a more amazing place for their wedding! The Kenwood Inn was rated the top small resort in the United States by Conde Nast the past two years and it’s not hard to understand why the second you arrive there. Since it was a destination wedding it was a small intimate ceremony with their closest family and friends and everyone enjoyed every second of their special day. We went into the vineyards to take photos just before sunset with Sarah and Ryan and had an amazing time! I will be posting their slideshow soon as well as photos from their reception that took place at the Filter building in Dallas a few weeks later.
Think Pink! A McKinney Wedding Preview
Nicole & Josh were married almost two weeks ago in McKinney at the historic chapel at Chestnut Square and had their reception at the ever so cool Flour Mill. They are such an adorable couple who have an amazing circle of family and friends who came together on to celebrate their wedding day.
I was excited to work with some of my favorite vendors, Sarah Halterman with Sweet Art Bakery and Pamm Myers with Bridal Blooms & Creations. I had to share photos of the amazing work that they did with the cake and flowers for the wedding.
Pink has been very popular this spring and summer and I can understand why. It is such a fun color that really stands out and adds a fun element to a wedding and reception.
Ashley and Luke’s Wedding Featured in Texas Wedding Guide
I was so excited to see Ashley & Luke’s wedding featured in the newest issue of the Texas Wedding Guide! Their wedding was this past Fall at the Swingin D Ranch in Parker, TX which was the perfect setting for their sunset wedding.
Prior to their wedding I photographed their engagement session out in the country roads of McKinney. They both love horses and my friend Shannon with Happy Trails Carriages let us use one of her beautiful white horses for the session.
